Just off the southern tip of the island are three small rock-islands, Ko Jan (Moon Island; Thai: @201#L ), Ko San Chalam (Shark Fin Island), and Hin Khao (White Rock; Thai: @20+42' ). <br /><br /><span style="font-size:16px; font-weight:bold;">How to get here</span> <br />Samet Island located just 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) offshore; therefore, travel to and from Koh Samet is typically via the small local port at Ban Phe on the coast. <br /><br /><span style="font-weight:bold;">By Bus (recommended)</span> <br />Use Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai) in Bangkok to Baan Phae Pier in Rayong (Ekkamai bus terminal is accessible through sky train which run throughout Bangkok). Travel time from Bangkok to Ban Phe Pier, Rayong is approximately 3-1/2 hours. From Baan Phe Pier, take a 40-minute boat ride to Koh Samet (Samet Island). <br /><br /><span style="font-weight:bold;">By Car</span> <br />Use airport taxi to your hotel in Rayong (or Baan Phe Pier if your hotel is right on Samet Island). The taxi fare should be around 3,000 Baht.
